Hurrication Revelation

1st part

During the recent hurricane evacuation, I and 6 other people traveled together to stay at a friends house in South Carolina. This house was very large and had its own movie theater room. The room had just enough chairs for all 7 of us. We ended up setting up all of our computers in this room so we had something to do for the 8 days. We thought it was neat that 4 game art majors, a computer animation major, and interior design major and a motion design major were all working together in the same room. It looked like a studio with all the wires and computers. We ended up calling ourselves Irma Studios as a joke but now that I think about it we could have totally made our own studio and worked together to make something cool.

2nd part

To be inside a hurricane is creepy when it gets bad, you get the sense of doom and apocalypse even though it is literally just a storm. The act of people leaving in mass, stocking up on supplies, boarding up their windows and trying to do what they can to survive can get stressful and make you feel like the world is ending. The atmosphere is my favorite, as brooding as that sounds. The grey and rainy, fallen trees, water filled streets. I enjoy the pressure of everything not being perfect around you. Hurricanes are spooky.

3rd part

A category 5 hurricane in 1817, humans have yet to ruin the climate. Hurricanes aren't measured in categories at this time. This monster of a storm is unheard of and unseen. The locals have heard news from islanders that have fleed to southern America that there is a huge storm approaching. Some people think this is an act of rage from a higher power and begin to pray. Most everyone who believes the storm is coming has fled. These people pack up their belongings on horse drawn wagons and carriages. Poor people accept that their house will be lost, the rich know they will be fine. Mass panic sets in. Once the storm hits, there is devastation. All small feeble houses have been leveled. Food and water is gone. The streets run like rivers. Trees and debris fill the town.

4th part

A hurricane in 2217, climate change is out of control and irreversible. The storm this year is a category 8. Humans have developed infrastructure to resist this horrible weather phenomenon. People try their best to reverse the devastation they have caused on earth. People are smarter, science rules instead of religion, though this cannot change what humans have done the last 400 years.

5th part

Mixing two worlds together, a couple friends get together in 1817 for the upcoming storm, they have no one else to travel with as fate has taken their families from them. These friends have chosen each other to travel with. In their travels they make a product together and eventually make a business.
